Father's Day

We celebrated Father’s Day by giving Doug cards we bought for him and by having a wonderful day at home, a bacon and sausage filled brunch, then cooking out that night and going for ICE CREAM!!! We walked there! We were also treated to a special visit! Erica and Serge popped in for a visit to our new house! James told Serge Happy Father’s Day and told him that he was Auntie E’s Daddy. It was very cute J Doug and James also transferred his little seedlings (James and I planted in the egg carton) into three bigger pots outside.
Opening his cards from the boys and from me

Dad spelled in Bacon.

Sweet James and his Auntie E snuggled in looking at Maggie and Winston on the phone

Remember the seeds we planted in the egg carton? These are they!
As James would say, "They grewed!"

Our sons.
James is resistant to smiling for photos these days. It was almost a smile :)

Luckily for me, I still have one willing photography subject :)

And he's pretty adorable :)

I just found this to be too cute - the little peak at his tiny teeny hinie

Doug and his boys. His boys who love him with all their hearts and who want nothing more than to be right by his side every single day.

Planting a snuggle :)

Cillian wanted in on the planting action too.

And then the ice cream. Oh my gosh the ice cream. Doug ordered James' cone for him. It's gigantic. HUGE. I totally thought James was going to get sick but he didn't. He ate the whole thing and then ran home with Doug. I love that they could do that - that they could run home. I cannot tell you what an amazing thing this move has been for us - for our family. It's like a dream. We walked to get ice cream! To an ice cream parlor that's only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They serve homemade ice cream to boot.

Looking back now both boys were wearing phish t-shirts! Ha! Just for Daddy J Doug is easily the best dad in the world. He can throw the boys up in the air so high it makes my stomach flip and the boys just laugh and laugh. He can carry them for hours. Doug can swing them up into his arms or on his shoulders or flip them upside down like they’re dolls but does it with such care and love. Doug lets these little guys climb all over him and tickle him and wrestle him and relishes every minute of it. He can come in and diffuse a crying fit or a tantrum by saying something to make the boys laugh or by nabbing their interest in something so cool that I would never even think to do – and that’s why he is the magical, mythical amazing Dad that he is. I don’t know what I would do without him. The boys love him so dearly I cannot even describe it. The smiles he elicits from both of them are the purest most unconditional loving smiles I have ever seen. We are so lucky to have Doug in our lives. Thank you for being the most amazing father to our boys Dougie! We love you always!!!!

Happy Father's Day Doug!
