It was raining and we were getting ready to leave for a
helmet appointment I think and I was prepping the diaper bag and I saw flashing
lights. I called to James and picked up Cillian and we went outside. Apparently
a branch from a tree on our property (or the parkway – which is village
property but next to our property line) fell into the street (Thank You God
that the branch didn’t fall on the house!) and a neighbor called to report it. I
made an excellent first impression on the village arborist when I told him I
had no idea anything happened until I saw the flashing lights. We were told
that the tree was sick and it would have to be taken down eventually but that
we could sign up to apply to participate in the village replanting program.
Here are some photos I took of the poor tree. This made a huge impression on
James – he asked a lot of questions about why the tree got sick, why the branch
fell, why the tree has to get “tooken down” and when will we get a new tree,
will it be little or big, will it fall. The arborist tried to answer as many
questions as he could. He was such a nice guy – four kids. Good with answering
questions J
