Last Art Class

On Tuesday, James had his last art class. This class was so wonderful and we'll be back next summer for sure. James sat with Ms. Jan a lot during class and was a little sad to have art class ending. Doug was able to take him last week and they did two paintings - one warm colors and the other cool colors. Today, we cut them - one horizontally and one vertically - and then we weaved them together and made this:

It was so nice to be able to spend some one on one time with James. It was the first time since Cillian had been born that I had been able to do it. I think we both needed it. It was also the first time I drove since the delivery so it was a nice milestone for me to reach too.

On the way out of our building, James and I ran into another family in the elevator. They were shocked I was out of the house. I told the wife, who is pregnant with her second, and the husband who was pushing their 2 year old son in the stroller, that you don't have the luxury of sitting around recovering with your second - you have your older child to attend to as well. Life keeps moving. I also added - make sure you have someone to help you - my Mom is here and she's been an unbelievable help. But it's the truth, life keeps moving. With the second baby, you realize how easy it was with just one baby. The stuff you thought was hard is like a cake walk. Trying to balance bathroom trips for your toddler with feeding an infant or rocking a fussy infant with needing to make dinner or nap time with one and waking up with the other - it's all challenging. But, I'll figure it out. We all made it right?

Anyway, next summer, James, Cillian and I will be in art class with Ms. Jan! We cannot wait!!!
