James went into a fire station today! And Mom and Dad had no camera! How did both of these events happen? So glad you asked :)
It was gorgeous out this morning - 76 degrees! - so we went to the playground and then we walked past a fire station on our way to best buy and we were bummed that there was no fire engine in it :( So we told James that we'd check it out on the way back.
We almost forgot to walk up to Chicago Ave to get to the fire station and we are so glad we did! We got there and sure enough, Ambulance 11 and Fire Engine 98 were BOTH there!

A fireman saw us looking in and invited us in and when we got in there and were standing next to the station, James was literally shaking with excitement. The fireman asked James if he wanted to get in the truck, but James was glued to Mom. How cool is that though? An invite into a truck! Sweet! We took a rain check. I'm sure we'll be back. Like, tomorrow.
Before we left, the fireman gave James a lollipop and a sticker.
James' face was indescribable. Thank you to Engine Company 98 for being so wonderfully welcoming to us and taking care of Chicago!
