Construction Season

So, there are two seasons in Chicago: Winter and Construction

Construction season is upon us and James is excited. There is work being done everywhere! Shockingly, it's made time in the car better, because James is mesmerized by the HUGE yellow construction vehicles working on the roads. Mom knew one, "bulldozer" and used it as a blanket term. That or "construction trucks." Nice huh?

We ordered this book for James for his birthday and it's a book that now is read at least once everyday around here. James loves it. It has great illustrations of the work being done and wonderful sound words that really convey what's going on in the pictures and the story. It also has a glossary complete with pictures of the different construction vehicles - like excavator, front-end loader, and steam-roller Now I sound like I know what I'm talking about :)

We love it. If you've got a little guy in your life, it might be worthwhile to check it out.
