Today we had our photos taken for our Christmas card. James was the most well behaved today during the shoot since he was a baby. Cillian can walk now so he was the wild card. Hopefully *one* photo will come out. We spent about an hour and a half with Lizz this morning - by our house and in the park up the street. When we got to the park, there were a few other families getting their photos taken as well. It was kind of funny in a weird way. Like, this is totally the new normal.
After the photos, we came home and ate lunch. C went for a nap and while James and watched the Bears today (ugggggggghhhh), Doug was filling the house with the most delicious smells - making ham and pea soup. We got a ham to carry us through the before and after MRI and today Doug used every last bit of it in the soup. While it simmered, we carved the pumpkins.
Doug and James emptied them out while I cleared the radiators off for the season. Then with impeccable timing, Cillian woke up just as they finished and we fed him snack outside while we carved our four pumpkins.

James' pumpkin - drew it, carved it. This is the first year he did it all by himself.

James and Doug had also hung up the scary decoration out front. They also hung up bats around him.

James really wanted to get the corn this year but Doug was afraid the squirrels would just eat it - so they came up with a great compromise - hang it on the front door.

And look what Doug did.
Best Dad Ever.
And look what we did - so I saw this idea in a magazine to put vampire teeth in little gourds and pumpkins and Doug expertly executed it - I tried and couldn't get the angle of the cut right but of course my Doug could do it :) James and he painted the pumpkins too - beautifully done!
I drew out shapes, James cut them and James glued his pumpkin and I helped Cillian glue his.

And without further ado ...
