Back in the day when I was young ... I used to cross-stich. Laugh it up.
So for some reason I wanted to do it again. There's a place up here that does needlepoint - sells everything you need and you can make your needlepoint into a pillow or a belt or frame it etc. So I went in and explained to them that I had never done this specifically but needed a 'time out' activity for myself again. I found a sailboat print with a little pocket that said "Tooth Fairy." James told me kids in his class were losing their teeth (be still my heart) so I thought I could make this for him. I picked it up in August and just found the time to do it now. I finished in about a week. It was so nice to escape into the repetitive stitching and let my thoughts wonder. I really enjoyed it. But I used up every naptime and bedtime minute on it. I'm not getting another one until I finished some things around the house that need attention! I'll use it as a reward for getting the 'not fun stuff' finished around here. So without further ado - the finished needlepoint for the pillow. The final pillow will be finished in about 8 weeks.
Love it!!! I needlepoint too! I have been doing a Christmas stocking for Sally - it has taken me 3 years :-) and I am still working on it! One day.....
