Jamesisms

There are just a few things I would like to remember that James has said recently.

He is taking Spanish at school and he cannot roll his R so he's very confident in believing that red in Spanish is "Bbbbbbbbbrojo" He makes the bubble noise for Bs and then says rojo afterwards. I tried not to laugh and said, "I think it's rojo James." He said, "Oh Mom no, actually can I give you some advice? Oscar says it's bbbbbbbbbbbbbrojo. It's Brojo Mom."

"Can I give you some advice? I think I could actually have three cookies instead of two. It would be nicer that way."

Me: James, that's three not listenings - that's time out buddy.
James: No thanks.
Me: James, that's not being very respectful. A rule is a rule. Time out kiddo.
James: Mom, I don't think you heard me, I was polite. I said no thank you.

James just watched Toy Story and loved it. Obviously. He's watched it a lot lately - good behavior rewards are super popular around here. And since he doesn't nap anymore, this is a way Doug can still catnap on the weekends while James watches a movie. Win-win all around. Anyway, we have commercials here for Michigan - it's a "Pure Michigan" campaign and the commercials air on both the radio and tv. We listen to the radio every morning and one morning one of the commercials came on and James went into this very concentrated trance like state. I laughed when I realized he was trying to place Tim Allen's voice and said, "Yeah, that's Buzz Lightyear!" His face lit up and then he said, "Why is he telling us about Michigan? And to go there? Is that where Pizza Planet is? Is that where Andy is?" I said yes! In Michigan!

The day before he started school he said, "Mom, I wish you were still in Kindergarten so we could be together." My heart. My James.

And now ladies and gentlemen, James' first curse word:

Me: James, you can't leave these little legos out all over the floor. Your brother will put them in his mouth and he could choke James. Okay? You have to pick these up!
James: Mom, I know. I came down here this morning and said DAMNIT! I can't believe I left these choking hazards all over the place.

  1. Sally's first was damnit too! She was introducing Lu our dog to a friend - she said "this is Lu, she is a damnit." Hahaha! Wonder where she heard that??
