Cillian in the City

On 9/26, I had to go into the hospital for a routine colonoscopy and endoscopy. It was not a big deal. Promise. There's been a lot of stress lately and just like you learn in school and just like I actually used to teach to people - stress is not good for you in the long run - takes a toll on the old body. My stomach was hurting a lot, I had heartburn like late pregnancy heartburn fits, etc, etc, I went to a GI guy in July and he wanted me to get these done just to be on the safe side of things - I resisted for a long time but then gave in. Everything is totally fine and I'm thankful for that - just have to find ways to manage my stress better. Apparently drinking coffee all day and worrying constantly isn't the best combo. Go figure. Anyway, while I was under the influence of my morphine-valium cocktail at the hospital, Doug and Cillian had fun being in our old neighborhood for the day. James was at school - we gave him the option of coming with us or going to school and he picked school. Good kid.

Here are the photos Doug took of Cillian. When I was going through these photos, I actually stopped and thought to myself - what?!?!? I was so confused, I couldn't figure out why Cillian was at our old playground or in the city at all and then it dawned on me. Oh yes. The colonoscopy-endoscopy or "The Festival" as Doug so endearingly referred to this event. Doug actually took a photo of me and Cillian both passed out asleep on the way home from the hospital. That will not be posted here. Take my word for it - we both look adorable.

He is so stinking cute

This playground was so much fun to have in the city - the lake in the background, all the cars from Lake Shore Drive. Really fun for the boys - lots to watch and see.

And apparently Doug took Cillian for a walk and it turned into Cillian pushing the stroller along the inner drive. Doug said he had so much fun walking and pushing the stroller all over the place.

Cillian in front of Northwestern Law School. A foreshadowing perhaps?

Happiest guy in the world.
