Cillian Walks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

Today at Physical Therapy, Cillian took his first steps.

 

He walked.

 

He actually walked.

 

I saw it. James saw it.

At first he took 6 steps, then 8. He just kept walking and then sitting down and then walking again.
His last stretch was walking for 22 steps in a row.

 

Leida and I cried and hugged each other. Tears of joy, relief and awe were shed and smiles were on everyone's faces.

 

My iphone died all the way in June and I didn't have a way to capture it. Leida had an intern make a video for me on the clinic's ipad and they took some stills too. When Leida sends me the photos, I will post them here.

 

My son walked. I don't ever again have to say that he can't because HE DID. The next time someone asks me, "Oh he's two? He can't walk?" I'll say he can walk actually, he's just crawling because he is awesome. And that's what he feels like doing at the moment.

 

To celebrate, we bought cookies - James got a yellow crayon cookie and Cillian got a green one. Lately, green has been his favorite color.

 

A few days before Cillian walked, my Dad sent me a text reminding me that one thing Nana used to say was, "Don't give up."

 

Don't give up.

 

Cillian didn't give up.

Thank you my beautiful son for helping me revel in the everyday.
