Pumpkin Carving Take 1

We started carving pumpkins in the late afternoon - starting the grill too for some dinner and we had called the air conditioning/heating people because the heat wasn't working in the sunroom but didn't think someone would come over that day. This is important later.

Anyway, here's James and Doug at the beginning - setting out to work!
Grill lit - pumpkin tops off and ready to de-seed!

So excited! And wearing his star wars shirt.

Lots of tools.

Cillian and I share distaste for the insides of pumpkins.
 Working hard.

So now it's me and the boys outside - Doug is inside with the heat guy who was near our house at the end of the day. last call. very nice of him to stop by for us but timing off because of the pumpkins and grill being lit. James is being very very patient. He was looking forward to carving pumpkins all weekend long.

So, I decide on an impromptu photoshoot! Everyone is excited! Ha! :)

There we go :)

Cillian in sunglasses - there is nothing cuter.

Thank ya kindly

And now, dinner. Poor James - he didn't get to finish his pumpkin at all but we did manage to get dinner on the table for everyone before it was too late. The boys were having so much fun and Cillian was laughing so hard.

And then of course, a light saber battle.

Cillian has his shield up, Doug's fighting and feeding Cillian and James is fighting so hard!

And because really no night would be complete without the James version of "fat guy in a little coat" a la Chris Farley. We said "big guy in a little coat" because James is not fat by any stretch of the imagination. He is becoming a string bean! He is growing UP UP UP and UP! But really this was hilarious. And he was such a good sport about not being able to finish his pumpkin until another night. Love my boys so much.
