Fall Craftiness

I read Martha Stewart Living. I still get magazines - I love them. I still read actual books too. Love them more. Anyway, I was reading MSL fall issue and I saw these beautiful yarn balls inside acorn tops and I thought oh my gosh what a great thing to do with kids. James will love this. Only it wasn't a craft - it was something made (so kind of a craft) by this lady in Brooklyn who hand spins the yarn and glues them into acorns she and her children collect. So I started thinking ... our yard is FILLED with acorn tops. We have ravenous squirrels and chipmunks who leave these empty shells all over the yard. And with the rain and winds, we have acorns all over the alley too. . . . .

And then I realized - FELT BALLS! MICHAELS! GLITTER GLUE!

And then ... James and I crafted these:

The glue dots didn't work as well as the glitter glue did - the glitter glue was actually fantastic because you could squirt it right in the well of the empty top and the felt ball just nestled in so nicely.

I made a "J-corn" hahahahahaha - get it? A J-corn. Yeah. I'll be here all week.

Twinsies!

The finished project! Had so much fun!
