Fun at the Museum

The day after Christmas and the day before everyone left, Doug, James, my Dad and Michael all went to the museum of science and industry and had a blast. There is a HUGE train set up that models the BNSF train route from Chicago to the Port of Seattle. It's like the most perfect museum exhibition for these guys to go check out. Couldn't be more perfect. There's also the submarine that the US Navy hijacked from the Germans in WWII. The movie U571 was based loosely on it - the movie is fiction - this of course was the real deal. Doug said that these guys were down under water for 3 months - it's literally one of my worst nightmares. Pre children I *tried* to go and see this thing and experienced a full on panic attack. I felt like I couldn't breath - It was awesome.

I share this only because my child also does not care for this submarine. Apparently you get on the thing for a tour and they DEPTH CHARGE you so you can experience the hell it was even more. Doug said he had no idea they were going to do the depth charge thing - he said James freaked out and the tour guy showed them the way out. James vehemently advised Mike Mike and Michael to go no where near the submarine. As you can see, it was a positive experience for him (sarcasm).

ANYWAY, James and the guys had a most wonderful time and Doug was able to get some great photos of their adventures.

Mom and I hung out at home with one Mr. Cillian and had a morning full of snuggling with the tiny adorable guy. It was bliss.

After their stay, it was absolutely so tough to say goodbye to everyone. We were all very sad. However, it was such a great trip and a wonderful visit and we made so many fantastic memories. In addition, Doug, Michael and I went out and saw .... wait for it .... TWO MOVIES!!! What?!?!?! Yeah. We made it out of the house. It was so rejuvenating I can't even tell you. I can now say I've seen Skyfall and the Hobbit. ha HA!

Anyway, as you can see from all the posts and photos, we had a magnificent Christmas!
