Christmas 2012

I was sitting at the table in a quiet house on Christmas morning. It was 7am and no one was awake but me. Cillian had gotten up around 4:30 and I didn't get back to bed until 5:30 and then because we have a roaming 3.5 year old who sometimes has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and/or in 'dark morning', Santa was advised to not bring the presents out to the tree until about 6:30.

So I was sipping my coffee, enjoying the quiet and anticipating the joy that would fill the house in just a short time and then I heard James' door open. The first thing out of his mouth was "WHOA."

Here are some photos from this wonderful day. Merry Christmas!

James: "Where is Daddy's Ironman shirt that lights up?"
Everyone: Laughing

At least he waited until the last minute to tell Doug his gift from the boys - they think (and rightly so) that their Dad is a superhero.

James: "Where is Uncle Michael's iPad?"
Everyone: Laughing

And, this might have been one of my personal favorite present from this Christmas. My Dad showed me how to cook the stuffing that Neato (my grandfather) always cooked for them growing up. It was the best - from tearing the rye bread the night before to cooking it freestyle with no recipe right before dinner - good times. So happy to have shared this with my Dad! It was the first time we've cooked together since my Easy Bake Oven days :)

Merry Christmas Everyone!
