We have discovered new talents this month - James can clap! James can sing! James can DANCE! Oh yes. Ever since James was born we've been listening to music - we're a music loving family - what can I say? In fact, when he was still very tiny, we would dance and listen to Land of 1000 Dances when James was fussy and it would calm him down. We were at F&O the other day and Marvin Gaye was playing and James was swaying back and forth, dancing away at the grocery store.
And for the lucky few that were able to witness James in the bouncer, you are well aware of the sweet music that accompanied those times. Every time we hear "You're Love is Lifting Me Higher" - we all just start moving! You may have noticed the past tense here ... it's because ... sigh, the bouncer has been put away. I know. It was sad. We have had SO many happy memories of James in this toy. Just for good old times, here is one of the first times James was in the bouncer followed by his last time.

For Earth Day, Dad brought James home a little tree from work. Earth Day just happened to coincide with bring your kids to work day at Dad's office and one of the activities was to plant a tree together. James is a little young to be going to the office with Dad just yet, but his time will come soon enough! Anyway, we had a planter on the balcony that needed some life so James got to plant his tree there. Dad planted the tree so expertly! Here are a few shots of the planting.

James also cries now when we take something away from him or move him from a location. That's been hard. But, it's usually for the kiddo's own good. Diaper changing is getting more interesting as this is the only time that James likes to get in the crawling position. It's made for some pretty hilarious diaper changes.
James has curly hair. In the back. Just like ... his Dad. Shocking, I know :o) It's adorable and it's the most curly right after a bath.

A new thing that James has been doing a lot of lately is sticking his tongue out. It's really cute - his tongue is so little!

Another positive change is that James now enjoys looking through books and flipping through the pages all by himself - yes turning and not ripping the pages. Awesome! It's really cute to watch him. We usually leave him be while he's doing this. It's like he's studying the pictures and he's actively looking for specific ones. It's really cool to watch. He likes to do this with "One Fish Two Fish" the most.

Dad has also taught James how to squirt Mom with his bath toys. Usually, we all end up laughing hysterically by the end of bath time. One of Dad's favorite memories of James is the first night James got Mom - James was laughing so hard his whole body turned red!
And, as always, here are a few of our favorite photos from the last month. Enjoy!

Happy 12th month James!! :)
