Weekend Fun

We got treated to some pretty nice weather this weekend. On Saturday it was in the 70s and today it was colder in the lower 50s but hey, the sun was out and the wind wasn't too bad. At least it has stopped snowing - and yes, for those of you who are unaware, it did snow here last week. Fingers crossed that we are finished with snow. On Saturday morning Dad had a haircut and had to run a lot of errands so Mom and James headed out and cruised the river walk. It was beautiful.

James has been really enjoying these teething biscuits from Earth's Best. Because I worry all the time and about everything as it relates to James, I give them to him in a mesh feeder thing. He loves them. We are thinking that the top teeth are prepping for their debut - not just one or two but all four. Yikes. We'll keep you posted.

Anyway, when Dad came back (looking quite handsome from his haircut), we all went back outside and hung out in the park in the grass. It was James' first time in the grass. He had never felt grass before or seen a stick or a rock or anything. James studied everything. He wanted to touch everything and thoroughly examine it. He loved combing his fingers through the grass and coming up with blades of grass and little sticks. He was in a constant state of amazement. After a while James was getting fussy and Mom checked her phone and it was totally time for James to eat. Time just flew by us while we were hanging outside.

On Sunday, it was much colder but we decided to take James to the playground a block away from where he was born and about 6 blocks away from our house. Today, James had his first ride in a swing and slid down a slide. It's all on video and it's all on film. Yep, we were totally those parents today. Filmed it all and so very happy we did. Kiddo loved the swings. Was smiling ear to ear and laughing and giggling the whole time.

We cannot wait to take him back there again. Dad took him down the slide for the first time too. It was adorable.

I'm so glad the weather was nice so we could enjoy some time together outside of the house. One of our neighbors kept seeing us leave the building and said, "You guys are always outside with him." Doug said to me later, "Well, during the winter, you have to be inside all the time and in the spring and summer, you want to be outside all of the time." Agreed. It's pretty much just as simple as that. And with days like this, how could you not want to be outside all the time?
