The Surgery

This was the morning of the day before the surgery.

When Doug got home from work, we decided to go out for ice cream. Funny thing, at the beginning of the summer, we thought Cillian just didn't like ice cream. Turns out, he didn't like vanilla ice cream - he LOVES peanut butter ice cream. Delicious. Mom's favorite too.

Then, we thought we'd take pics of our hair brushing routine at night. If we don't brush the curls, they dread by the next morning. He looks like a mini-Trump with his hair all wavy and back. Adorable. He just sits right there in the sink. Love him.

So, the next day, since Cillian's surgery wasn't until late afternoon, Doug took James to swimming and both of them loved the opportunity that was given to them. Doug even snapped a few pics of James with Paula.

These were taken before we left for the hospital. Poor guy hadn't eaten anything since the night before and he was on to us about something happening because we just kept offering him water or pedialyte. He knew something was up - just not what. But just look at his amazingly happy little spirit. He is so brave you guys. So happy, loving and full of life.

Then, before we knew it, we were at the hospital.

Fell asleep waiting for the nurses and doctors to come in and do pre-surgery screening.
