This was one of their first exchanges:
James: Did you ever see the Lego movie?
Kim: Yes. My grandson loves it. Did you know he was Batman?
James: I'M SUPERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kim: That's great James. Let's play some golf.
James: Awesome.
James' first lesson was 7/11 which was the day after Cillian's surgery. Sophie met me and James there on the first day. I was there at the beginning of the lesson and I introduced myself to Kim, why I wasn't staying etc and then Soph came in half way to relieve me so I could go to Walgreens and pick up Cillian's prescriptions and then head back home to help Doug.
These photos are from James' second lesson. James is such a cutie and loves golf. I mean like loves it. He also loves his teacher a lot which I think makes a huge difference. When we arrived at the second lesson Kim told me that James was in the paper. At first I thought he was joking but he was serious. I told Doug and he googled it and found it - Kim said he couldn't believe they didn't use one with their faces but he was proud of James nonetheless.
This is an excerpt from the article: "A year later, golf pro Kim McCombs, the club's director of instruction, spent a recent morning guiding a young golfer who was intent upon driving a bucket of balls with an admirable degree of dexterity. (this was James). "It's a relief that the renovation is completed and now, we're all ready to go," said McCombs. "I think golfers will find the new golf course challenging, and we're all excited to be back on such a great course."
