Two years ago you made our family a family of four and made me the proud Momma of two sweet and beautiful boys. I cannot imagine life without you my sweet darling. Your curly hair is the cutest and you say, "I two" with the sweetest voice ever heard. Your eyes are the bluest of blues and your little tiny hands are so loving now. You hold on to our fingers and hands now and you nestle in when we cuddle you to sleep for nap. You want to be in your crib at night after stories and songs and not cuddled. But oh boy is nap different. I think it's Mommy and Daddy's favorite time - Daddy rocks you and cuddles you on the weekends and I get to each day of the work week. It's the only time you let us do this and we savor it.
If Mommy pays attention to anyone but you, you put your hand on my chin and move my face so I'm staring right at you and then you smile and give me a kiss. If I'm paying attention to James, you try to disrupt this. For instance, I was trimming James' nails and he was sitting in my lap. You actually pushed him out of my lap and sat in my lap and then handed me your hand. You hate your nails being clipped. I laughed pretty hard but poor James was hurt. He was shocked you could do that. So Mommy had to cuddle James for a bit and help ease the bruised ego of the big brother.
Your favorite books to read in the playroom are Brown Bear and Trucks Trucks Trucks and you love Daddy reading Freight Train to you before bed and My Love will Follow You, Oh My Oh My Dinosaurs and Good Night Moon are every night staples.
You love to climb the stairs. Love it. You love it even more when James makes the climb with you. You actually do a little happy feet dance on the stairs when you've gone up a floor. When you get to the top you say, "I did" and we clap.
Sometimes when you eat, you grab the fork and feed yourself. This is HUGE and we always make certain to really give you claps and say YEA! when you do it. Even James claps super hard for you!
You want to be OUTSIDE all the time. All the time. You love your walker and your bike. You could do laps all day long around the block if we let you. If there is a stick or a rock or a leaf on the sidewalk, you squat down and toss it aside to clear your path. You sign water and let us know when you need a drink on our walks. You absolutely love it - hands and arms swinging and flapping complete with smiles and squeals when James rides his bike and I push you on yours. You actually turn to face James and I push you along side of him and you "talk" to him while we ride down the sidewalk.
You are getting better about putting things in your mouth but you still do it and then smile and say, "blah." This is cute but also please stop putting everything in your mouth ;) thanks. You like bubbles more now which is great and you also have tried coloring with chalk for a little and then you throw it or put it in your mouth but we are starting to color with it which is GREAT! You love music. You love the Frozen soundtrack - especially Love is an Open Door. You say "Door!" whenever you hear it. You love Mr. Dave's music cd from James' music class. You love when Mommy sings to you and sometimes Mommy sings all the way through a meal so you'll eat. Thank you to James and Dad for always being the best back up singers in the world! If all of the raindrops were jellybeans and gumdrops ....
We have been signing more and more with you and you are learning some signs which is very helpful. You are also learning to say a few more words a bit better which is great. We're working hard and we know you're working hard too. You are such a great cruiser and walker with your red ybike walker. You are so so so close to walking on your own big guy. You can walk holding only one finger on Mommy's hand - we're barely giving you any support Cills - you can do it! We believe in you!
Mommy and Daddy decorated for you and wrapped presents for you to open today. Today is a big day - your glasses go back on today!!!! AND, your Godmother Cara is coming all the way from DC to see you and Uncle Michael and Liddy and Mike Mike. WOW! Here are the photos from your big day of turning TWO! We love you so much Cills.
