Winter Adventures

Already by the middle of December we've seen a handful of snows but we got our first big one this weekend. I was supposed to go meet up with Auntie E but called it off because the drive would have been too dangerous to make in the snowfall. On Friday, Doug took off from work and picked up James from school by taking the train and surprised James by taking him home on the L. James was unbelievably excited and talked it about all day. On Saturday, we all went to watch James at hockey and he is doing so well. For someone who has never been on skates or ice, this kid is doing super amazing. He is so excited about so much of life - it's just contagious. I love it. When we got home from hockey, the snow really started and man was I glad we were all home together. Here are the pics from our snowy adventures.

HOCKEY!

And the first big snow - James was so excited to shovel - Doug bought a shovel just James' size. It was so much fun to watch James shovel with Doug. James was such a big help shoveling the alley and also our sidewalks. James loved to go out a shovel - anytime there was snow, James would say, "Mom let's go out and shovel!"

Cillian was *not* a fan of the snow. He no likey.

James enjoying some delicious hot cocoa that Doug found at our local grocery store up the street.

James and Doug built this lighthouse after dinner. It looks later than it actually was but they both had fun being out playing in the snow when it was dark out.
