Well, for Mom that is! Graduation was on Thursday May 12th and it was an unbelievable 80+ degrees outside. Someone actually fainted during the ceremony and I, among others, feared I would be among those to fall prey to the heat. It was so hot. You want to know why it was so hot? This is what we had to wear. It weighed probably 10lbs. Easily. And it made me feel like a character from Harry Pottery crossed with a flying squirrel.
The best part of the ensemble, was easily the hat. James loved it and I think everyone secretly wanted to be wearing it. I may wear it later to clean the house....
It was so amazing to have my Mom there and Auntie E and of course, James and Doug. My Dad was traveling and was going to surprise me by flying to Chicago but his flight was canceled :( But, the thought was there and that's all that mattered to me :) It was so special to have them there with me.
Then, to celebrate, Doug and I went out to dinner. An evening out was made possible by Liddy - thanks for babysitting! It was fabulous. A very fancy, very romantic evening out. A perfect way to celebrate the end of a wonderful day and the 'definitive bookend' (as Auntie E said) to graduate school.
Dr. Sennott. I think I can get used to the sound of that :)
Congratulations!!
