Musical Events

Music class has been going very well so far. The first time we went, James cried the entire time because (a) his nap ran long, (b) we had to eat in the car, (c) class had already started and (d) music class is loud - all of this together = unhappy kiddo. Oh yes and since James wasn't off the bottle yet, I had one with us in case he wanted it during class and one mother yelled at me because her son, Mason is having a hard time giving it up. Mason actually came over and tried to take it from me! So, since that very memorable experience, things have changed for the better.
We no longer sit next to Mason - we sit next to Kyla and her Mom and Marin and her Dad. It's much friendlier over there! Each class James warms up more and more as well which is great and today, I have to say it, James was a rock star. We got there super early and walked around the neighborhood for a bit and Mom popped into Stinky Pants to get James a few cool t-shirts.

We got to music class early and James was able to cruise the room and hang out with Marin and Miss Susanna for a while. Then at the end of class, we were playing with the bouncey balls and the class bully Sebastian (who makes at least one other child cry each class) kept taking a ball away from James. Finally, James just took off after Sebastian and by took off I mean -
JAMES WALKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

James took 6 or 7 steps and I took off right after him. We absolutely and totally interrupted class and I yelled, "Oh my gosh - James walked!" Miss Susanna asked - "Like walked as in first time?" Then after saying yes, the whole class clapped and cheered for James. And yes, James got his ball back from Sebastian too! I told you, James is total a rock star!

Here's our cool cat playing with a maraca and a tamborine! We called Dad after class and Dad was so proud, he asked Mom to please give the little guy a huge CONGRATULATIONS!

Yay James!
