The Big Birthday Bash

On May 1st, we had a great party to celebrate the 1st birthday of James Douglas! It was fantastic! We had so much fun and want to thank everyone who was a part of the festivities - those who were able to make it and those who were there with us in spirit!

As we said, we were only able to take a few photos so the photos on this post are from Mom and Dad and from Aunt Erica and Uncle Serge. THANK YOU AUNT ERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mommom and Grandpa Mike as well as Great Aunt Gerilyn and Great Uncle Chris are going to be sending us photos later - how thoughtful! Thank you all so much :o)

Mom and Dad decorated for the party and did the prep work for the food while James napped. We had a lion theme in honor of James and Tiny! Check out this sweet balloon! And, fyi - it's STILL floating around the house!

Mom and Grandpa Mike had gone to Sweet Mandy B's at 8am to get the cake so that was all taken care of. People started arriving around 11am and there were so many people in the house. Usually it's just Mom, Dad and James and it's pretty quiet around here - so James was treated to a big treat and got his paci for the beginning of the party. Then, after he warmed up to everyone, James actually just spit his paci out - what a great kid!

Here are our favorite photos from the big day - captions are under each photo. And again, thank you so much to all of you for your calls, your texts, your presents and cards - each meant so much to all of us and we were overwhelmed by your generosity and love for our son. And most of all, thank you to all of you who came to celebrate with us - the house was just how we love it - full of laughter, voices and happiness. We love you all so much!
