3 Months

We have a 3 month old! James is officially no longer a newborn! This is both exciting and a little sad too. We put away his little newborn clothes and his tiny coming home outfit - they looked so very small - it brought back so many memories. Whenever people see James they typically say "Whoa what a big boy!" Yes, that's right - he is a big boy - and he's the cutest, most handsome, smartest, most adorable, funniest and most huggable 3 month old ever ... but I may be a little biased :o) But seriously, look at that face!

Yesterday we went to the doctor because James has had a little cough for about 2 weeks now. Dr. King said that James' lungs sound beautiful and his nose and ears and throat looked great. It's most likely a little virus that will run its course. The doctor said that flying to New York is totally fine as well - we're getting so excited!! And now, for his 3 month stats: James weighs 14lbs 12 ounces (I know) and is 24 inches long! James has been doing so many cute things it's hard for me to get them all typed out! At the doctor's office, he was kicking his little legs so fast that he tore through the paper on the table! The doctor just laughed.

James has also been cooing and making conversation with us - we think he's going to have a deep little voice - his sounds are so cute and it's so fun to engage him and ask him "what else?" and "oh yeah? where else did you go?" or "what did you do then?" James just opens his bright eyes even wider and let's out the cutest little string of noises. James giggled for the first time on Sunday with Dad (Mom was a little jealous) and then again yesterday with Mom. Aside from the fact that it's the most awesome thing ever, the giggles happen around 5pm - we've dubbed it - "Happy Hour" - I know it's corny but I can't help it!

James is also gripping his toys on the play mat and reaching for them and pulling them toward his .... yep that's right MOUTH! James has also started drooling. Guess we know what's on the horizon for us! Here's a photo of him when he just missed his mouth and put the ring in his eye. What a cutie :o)

James has also been playing on his rain forest bouncer that Dad bought for him and put together without reading the instructions - Dad's so talented! :o) James LOVES this bouncer - he's not yet able to touch the ground so we put a little box underneath his feet and we show him how to bounce. When he's bouncing, he smiles so big it's just contagious!

We're having so much fun with James and can't wait for everyone to meet him. Mom's getting a little nervous about packing everything we need and flying with James but we're staying hopeful and positive!! We can't wait to see our beautiful Devon marry her wonderful Rob! Congratulations!!!
