We Love New York

We are back from a very successful, very fun, very happy trip to New York! The day we left, Mom and Dad had planned to get up at 4:30, shower and then get James up to feed and then be on our way. Well you know what they say about plans ... James woke up at 4am and things went his way - shockingly, things went perfectly and we left right on time. Thank you James!

We arrived at Nana and Grandpa's around 2pm and we were so excited to see our family and for them to finally meet James! There were 4 generations there! It was amazing!! We had a fantastic day and enjoyed all the delicious food Nana had put together for us. James loved meeting everyone and everyone loved James. He was very happy and very alert - just taking it all in and having a blast! Nana got the most "James time" which of course is how it should be! He snuggled right in on her and enjoyed every minute of being held by his great grandmother! James got sleepy and went down for a nap for a bit and Mommom Liz and Grandpa Mike didn't hesitate to offer to watch him while Mom and Dad hung out with the family. When he got up, we wanted to take him to the beach but it started to rain - there's always next time! We loved seeing all of the Reillys and Nana, Grandpa and Kevin and CANNOT wait to see them again! We miss you all and love you all so much!

After leaving Nana's we headed up to the island to get to our hotel and get ready for Dev's wedding. Aunt Col came to the hotel before the wedding to hang out with us and James and then we all left for the church to see Devon and Rob get married! It was a beautiful ceremony and Devon just looked gorgeous! She and Rob are such a great couple and it was a complete joy to be able to be a part of it! After the ceremony, we returned to the hotel and enjoyed some pizza before heading out to the reception. This was the first time we had left James and we were a little nervous but we were fine because we knew he was in terrific and loving hands! Thanks so much Col!!!

On Sunday, we said our goodbyes to everyone and arrived at the airport right on time. After boarding the plane, a huge thunderstorm rolled in and we sat on the runway for an hour! But, our little angel just slept away happy and content. He woke up when we exited the plane and Mom was able to feed him while Dad got our bags. We even had to set-up a diaper changing table on our luggage at baggage claim! But, as always, James was our little trooper and just smiled and 'talked' to us the whole time.

We had a fantastic time and cannot wait to see our family again! We miss you all and love you all so very much! We LOVE New York!
