Valentine's Day Massacre

Yeah, good thing we did the valentine's and Superman stuff the 13th because Friday morning Cillian woke up screaming and covered in throw-up. Happy Valentine's Day! The stomach virus has arrived!

Gross. Double, triple, super supreme gross me out. Cillian got it Friday, then I got it Saturday afternoon and night and then on Tuesday both Doug and James got it. It was awful. It seemed to last forever.

A few things happened though during this time that were important though. Number 1, I realized what an amazing pediatrician's office we now have. I called when Cillian was getting sick to have them go over with me what to do because it had been sometime since James was sick like this and also Cillian is still non-verbal - he can't tell me anything. They told me to come in when I called. I said, "are you sure? our former office told us to not come in and stay at home when we had this." The doctor told me well how do we know if this is a virus or not if you don't come in. Holy moles people.

So we were seen and it was declared the stomach virus. The pediatrician (not our main one) that we saw was so super nice to us and she told me that if he keeps getting sick and can't hold anything down that we have to go to the hospital and when we check in I have to tell them he is "special needs."

This was the first time I was ever told this. I mean, I know this. But it was weird to hear it. To be told to say it out loud. That this classifies my son. It was definitely a milestone in our journey. Special needs. There it is. I have a special needs son.

Also, I found out that the only things that kills the norovirus (aka the stomach virus) are Bleach and Lysol. And high heat. So everything that could get bleached or lysoled got it and everything else got tossed into the washer and dryer on high to the max heat. I hate germs. Got no love for the viruses. Get out my house norovirus.

So the midsection of February was spent getting sick and cleaning up after it. Also, it is still cold outside. And snowing.

It is the never ending winter.
