Autumn, the year's last loveliest smile. William Cullen Bryant
We have been loving autumn. It was last year during the fall that I first drove by our now home. I remember just driving up and down these streets looking at all of the beautiful foliage. Way even before James, Doug and I would sometimes drive this way on our way home to the city from a day in the burbs and I have always just loved the striking oranges, yellows, reds and browns of the leaves and how these towering trees arch over the streets. It's really breathtaking.
We have had so much fun playing in the leaves and going for walks and of course raking up the leaves in the back yard and playing in the huge leaf pile.
Sitting out in the front yard playing with leaves
They look deep in conversation - cracks me up
Hello
This is one of the many adorable faces we get from James now when a camera's out
And back to cute faces
And back to silly faces
Another one that makes me giggle - they both heard something
Love this one
And this one too. I mean can you believe these colors?
So, in the neighborhood, all the leaves get raked or blown into huge piles along the streets. This is a rule for fall. On specific days, huge trucks come and take the leaves. These piles were SO MUCH fun for James to play in and the trucks and plows that came to take the leaves were serious construction eye candy for both boys.
These were taken one day when we raked up the leaves - it's like one day all the leaves fell from the huge trees in our backyard so we thought we'd make a day of the work and then have fun in the leaf pile. Here's James bracing himself for leaves to drop on him. He'd never experienced a left drop before. As you'll see from the pics, he loved it.
