Brothers

 

I took these photojournalism-style - I was too afraid the moment would pass by before I could catch it. Expressions of love between these two are fleeting if best. James is still very weary of the Cillian. I should say that it's been interesting having the two of them home together. For Cillian's whole life so far James has basically been at school every day and we've been commuting every day - they hardly saw each other. Maybe for 1-3 hours the most each day because of sleeping differences etc. And now, they are together all day every day. It's been difficult times for me to balance feelings of guilt and/or safety - for example, do I leave James alone in the bathroom or Cillian alone in his highchair? And then I have to quickly calculate which one is worse and then the do the one I feel is the most safe and/or least emotionally harmful. Most of the time, we all end up in the bathroom together - ha! But seriously, they are learning about each other and James is really warming up to Cillian and wanting to see what this 'brother' is all about. I would like to add in here that outside time has been wonderful - thank you thank you thank you for our backyard.
