James literally had a birthday weekend this year. It started off on Friday when James had a birthday celebration at school. Dad even took off from work to come :) James was SO excited that Daddy was there. He was showing Dad to everyone. The class had regular class time from 8:45 until 10:00 and then Doug and I came in for happy birthday, cupcakes and then a trip up to the big gym. Here are the photos.
For each child's birthday, Toni reads a special book about turning 3. Today was obviously James' turn and he loved it. The recurring sentence is "The best part of turning 3 is ME." It was great.
We brought in Sweet Mandy B's cupcakes for his celebration. I'm sure all the parents loved us :)
Dad lifted James up to throw the basketball in the hoop - almost immediately after this photo was taken, every boy in James' class was lined up for Doug to lift them up too :) Another reason why Dad's are awesome.

We were all in the car ready to go and James said, "Mom stop sign stop sign! Daddy here. I can go in tree! I want to climb the tree!" There have been so many times that James asks to climb one of these beautiful old trees and I just can't lift him high enough to the big branches so I always tell him - when Daddy comes with us to school, he'll help you. Bless his little heart, James remembered to have Doug do it. These wonderful photos are our finish to a perfect day celebrating James' birthday at school.
