I'm a Planner

This post is kind of out of the ordinary for me because it's not really about James but about a planner. I've always been big on writing things down - I'm a list maker, a planner, a writer-outer of things to do and things that need to get done and a journal lover. To make this idiosyncrasy more intense, I've spent the majority of my life in school. I feel like graduate school served as my enabler to continue the needing the planner stage from college and now it's just stuck. I have to have one. Since I'm a Mom, I felt like a needed a 'Mom' planner and you know what? I tried like a million of them only to get annoyed with them, stop using them and resort to making lists and jotting down reminders and phone numbers and appointments on random pieces of paper and post it notes.

THEN, I was reading a blog written by a girl I knew in college (thanks facebook for the reconnect) and she posted about this planner which I have been using ever since. It's by Stephanie O'Dea and called Totally Together: Shortcuts to an Organized Life - I love it. A lot. Thank you Jodi! Jodi actually lived in the same dorm and same floor as me and Auntie E.

Anyway, I have been wanting to share this planner because I think it's great. I'm not always up and up on my housewifery and it has great reminders to clean out the fridge, change the sheets, clear out clutter, etc. And each week, it has daily reminders (with things you can check off!!!) to make the beds, keep the sink empty, tidy up the bathroom, etc. It is fantastic.

The only thing I added was a list to keep in the front so I can write down any "to-do things" that I need to tackle that day or that week or any events or appointments that require contact numbers or emails. I love this planner so much now and I can only imagine how useful it's going to be when the baby arrives this summer.

So there's my pitch for the planner ...

And in other news, I asked James during lunch today if we should give the baby a nickname while the baby is in Mommy's belly and he said, "Baby Chips. Because you eat a lot of chips Mom."

Here's the big brother of baby chips picking wish flowers and daddylions :)
