Deep Freeze

You guys we did it. We bought a freezer. Like separate from our fridge freezer - a stand alone chest freezer. You know why? In our fridge freezer, it's so narrow and so lacking in depth that we cannot have things in there that exceed a certain size. A box of Eggo's always gets crushed. Things are piled on top of one another, you have to take almost everything out on a shelf to get what you want or you risk an avalanche of frozen items cascading to the floor, and you can only buy one pint of ice cream at a time and limit the number of frozen fruit and veggies you buy. UNTIL .....Our wonderful store Abt had a customer appreciation sale the other weekend and we got this beauty for a great price.

You know what an unexpected plus has been for our family? Magnets. Regular magnets didn't work on our big fridge - just a special form of them would work and they're essentially metal choking hazards. So we were so excited when we realized our regular magnets worked and that Auntie E's present to James could finally be enjoyed in all of its magnetized glory!!! James has been loving the magnets and Doug and I have been loving the extra space - we've already made some soups to freeze and cannot wait to stock up on other goodies for the freezer. I may have put some crunch bars in there ... you know ... just to test to see if it worked :)
