Tables for Three and Two Antennae

There is much to post about that happened in September but we had too fun of a weekend to not post about it. So we'll catch up later. This weekend started off with Mom and Dad making an impromptu decision to go to Yolk for breakfast (breakfast place up the street we've never been to) before even getting out of bed on Saturday morning. We got James up, dressed and we were all out the door in like 10 minutes. No one showered, no one 'got ready', we just pulled on some clothes and we were on our way. It was fabulous.

When we got there, I was watching James in his booster seat, looking at the window having so much fun and said, I wish we had the camera and you know what? Doug had it. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Not only does Yolk have delicious food, but also crayons

Dipping pancakes in syrup

Mom told James she used to eat the Jelly when she would go out to eat with Liddy and MikeMike and so ... James did it

And James liked it too ...

James had so much fun and breakfast was delicious. When we got home he asked to go back to Yolk for lunch. And then again at dinner. And multiple times during the day every day. Today he knows that we go back to Yolk in 4 days - he holds up 4 fingers. Tomorrow it'll be 3 ...

After breakfast we walked on the beach and it was really windy so we were about to call it when Doug yelled for us to come over by him. He'd found a butterfly in a pile of lake-grasses (I feel since it's not the ocean I can't call it seaweed). We moved the butterfly to higher ground because some of the waves were really high on the beach. We didn't want it to get its wings soaked.

We had a regular weekend - it was really nice and relaxing. Sunday we went to Mass and when we were leaving this older gentleman said, "See you later Tiger" to James and then James growled at him ... like a tiger. He also called the Priest, "Green People" because of his green robes. Oh yes. And James gets so excited about the collection that he leaves the pew to give the people the money. People are aware of us at church :)

We were out and about on Sunday afternoon and it was getting close to dinner time and we decided to pop into the Drake bar for dinner. It was great. The waiter that we used to see when I was pregnant and when James was tiny was there and couldn't believe how big James had gotten. He has a son the same age so he's always very nice and talkative with us. They turned the lights down low while we were eating and James smiled and said, "In Dark In Dark!" (Say! In the Dark? Here in the Dark! - Green Eggs and Ham).

And now a little tangent if you will ...

Before James was born, I had received a Ladybug pillow from Mommom (my Grandmother) and we put it in James' room on the chair because we figured it would work for a boy or a girl and I wanted something of Mommom to be in the room. James has always liked the pillow but recently he was very interested in the parts of the Ladybug. He pointed at the top of its head and I said, "Oh that's the Ladybug's Antennae." And James was hysterically laughing. He loves the word antenna. He says, "Mom An-tent-ta? .... Nooooooooooooooooo! Daddy An-tent-ta? .... Nooooooooooooooooo!" And just laughs. James knows that bugs have them and then he noticed other things have antennae too - "Van An-tent-ta!" Yes! Vans have an antenna ...

Today we were walking down michigan avenue early this morning and he said, "Hancock Two An-tent-ta!" He was so excited - I had to photograph with my cell :)

When he falls asleep he asks for "Two An-tent-ta" - the Ladybug pillow. It's in his crib now ... with his little head snuggled in on it :)
