This day always reminds me of The Fugitive - the movie with Harrison Ford - the chase through the city of Chicago during the St. Patrick's Day parade and that quote "If they can dye the river green today, why can't they dye it blue the other 364 days of the year?"
Anyway, we bunddled the family up and went to the river dyeing today. Mom is sick with a nasty cold and we think James is coming down with it too. Because of this, our little outing was shorter than last year but we still had fun. We even got to listen to bagpipes - James' first time to hear it - he was really entranced by it.

While James and Dad were napping, Mom went out to get a corned beef and as we speak it is cooking away on the stovetop. Delish. It's James' great-grandfather's birthday today and we're making the corned beef according to Nana's recipe so there's a lot of the Reilly family presence in the house today!
