Finger Foods and Sippy Cups

So for about a month and a half James has been eating the crisps and then at 9 months we introduced little bits of chicken or ham or turkey. James is officially an omnivore. I was wishing I had posted these photos but then something happened a few days ago that I was able to catch on film. James is starting to dip his fingers in his food. He does it when the food is on the spoon, spilled on the tray or in the Tupperware. He then tries to feed it to himself but it works out more like a smear across his cute little face. I'm not going to lie to you - these feedings get pretty messy but it's worth it because he's learning and I don't care - what's a few extra wipes or paper towels in the long run? And the expressions on this child’s face when he looks at his little hands covered in food are just priceless.

Ah the sippy cup. We have been having a lot of fun with this. James loves it - loves to hold it, loves to bite it, and we're working on drinking. James likes to flip it upside down and chew on it. It's been an adventure so far and hopefully we can get more successful sips as time goes on.
