A Perfect Chicago Day

It's September 1st, 65 degrees, there's a little breeze, it's sunny and there's not a cloud in the sky. This is what the perfect day in Chicago looks like.

As I was feeding James, I couldn't stop looking out the window. It was just beautiful - the blue of the sky, the green of the trees and grass and of course, the unique green-blue of the lake. Even though we had already gone for a walk in the morning, we were going back out. You don't get too many days like this in Chicago and we were going to enjoy this one. We went out to our park across the street and sat on the bench that Dad and James hang out sometimes on the weekends. The park was so quiet and we were able to just listen to the sound of the waves hitting the rocks. It was just beautiful. James and I were just content to sit and listen to the world around us. And right when it was time to come home, a ladybug landed on our bench. What a great afternoon and what a great way to welcome fall to Chicago.
