I'll Have the Rice Cereal

So over the last week and a half we have been taking part in the adventures of rice cereal. We've had some really great feedings and some feedings where a meltdown occurred after three bites. But, just as Daddy reminded Mommy, this is his first time doing this. As you may have guessed, Daddy has won the parenting award for feeding. He even suggested that we include a little toy for James to play with during meal time to distract him - Dad is so smart. It works perfectly. Well, James really enjoys eating in his little chair with his spoon. He likes to investigate the bowl of rice cereal and even hold the spoon. One time, he tried to lick the bowl. He's simply adorable. Another time during a meltdown, Mommy was trying to make him laugh and it worked ... kind of. James went back and forth between crying and laughing. It was hysterical. Feeding times have been a great experience so far and we are looking forward to when James' highchair arrives. He's been eating in his little Bumbo seat and while it's good for now, it's not very practical for the long run. This weekend we are going to venture into the realm of vegetables. We are headed to the farmer's market on Saturday and then we'll start on Sunday. The first vegetable: Sweet Potatoes for our sweet little guy! Wish us luck!
