Well, I have to start with this: Mommom Liz, we love you so much, we miss you already and can’t thank you enough for all of your help! We had a great visit with Mommom Liz and she was such a huge help – doing laundry, doing the dishes, holding James, changing James, walking James in the stroller with Mom and babysitting James while Mom went out to the Gap to get some non-maternity clothes to wear while she gets back into shape (and her old clothes!) and while Mom got her hair done for the first time in almost a year! Mommom Liz also treated Doug and me to breakfast everyday – walking to Fox and Obel in the wee hours of the morning so we could have bagels and croissants and Doug could have some coffee before work. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!
Doug and I even planned our first date post-baby – we couldn’t really plan a dinner date because James eats at different times depending on how long his nap is, so we decided we’d see a movie. After feeding James, we were going to go see whatever movie was playing then and was shorter than 2.5 hours (average naptime). We arrived at the theater and went to buy tickets, but the movie was sold out already! Almost every movie was sold out – it was a rainy Memorial Day. So, we decided to go to Lizzie McNeill’s Irish Pub for some fried mozzarella cheese sticks where Dad enjoyed a beer and Mom enjoyed a Sprite. Not exactly the date we had planned, but it was nice to get out a little and enjoy each other’s company :o)
Mommom Liz’s visit couldn’t have been timed better! She was here for James’ Big One Month birthday and one month doctor’s visit! As soon as she arrived, James welcomed her into baby-life by needing a diaper change. Mommom Liz was a pro and James took to her immediately! James loved being snuggled on her shoulder while she rubbed his little back. By the end of the visit, they were old pals. We had so much fun together and even got to go clothes shopping for James at our favorite store Preggers. Mommom Liz picked out the cutest little outfit with submarines, scuba divers and fish on it – Dad loved it! He also got a little zoo animal outfit and a dinosaur outfit that James can’t wait to show Uncle Michael! We even took James on his first big car trip by taking Mommom Liz to the airport. We love you and miss you so much Mommom Liz and cannot wait to see you again with Grandpa Mike and Uncle Michael in July!
