Cillian was Baptized! We officially have the cutest and tiniest little Catholic in Chicago :) Doug and I were so moved by the amount of family that came into town for our celebration! James was SO excited that so many of his favorite people came into town. James had so much fun with everyone. This past weekend truly was a gift - it was just so wonderful. We had a very special guest with us - Uncle Kevin made his inagural visit to Chicago - Way to go Kev! It was unbelievable to see him. I just can't even describe it. Aunt Coleen came with him and it was so wonderful to see her as well!!!
By Friday around 7pm, our house was FULL of people. voices, laughter and happiness - it is my favorite feeling ever. I love when this happens. This wasn't even everyone.
Apparently James does too - he took it upon himself to have a fire evacuation. He effectively rounded up everyone and led them into the hallway for safety - he even told us - women and children first. He is SUCH an entertainer. Oh, this child. James dropped one liners all weekend. If people weren't laughing at the adorable things coming out of this child's mouth, they were hugging him or kissing him or having a ball playing around the house with him.
Thank you to all of our family that came! Thank you to Cillian's Godparents - Uncle Michael and Cousin/Aunt Cara! It means so much to me and Doug that Cillian will be blessed with such talented, caring, loving and witty Godparents. We love you!
A Batism is a very special and meaningful occassion in our life and especially in little Cillian's life - it's a day that marks (among other things) becoming a part of Christ and part of the Catholic church. We are just so thankful that this day was celebrated so joyously and that the day was all about celebrating Cillian, life, faith and love.
Here are some photos from the day that just really embody what it was to be in our home that day. Again, all our thanks, love and appreciation to all of you that made the journey. And for those of you that couldn't be here, please know that you were missed!
