Wishful Thinking

IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It started yesterday and snowed all day long - it was beautiful! I think it continued for a bit during the night but by this morning it had stopped and everything was coated in white. I love the way trees look with their branches heavy with snow - the snow just makes everything look so peaceful and quiet - even a bustling city! We had so much fun yesterday with the snow falling because AUNTIE E came over and was able to stay for most of the day!!!!! James was in Heaven :) Mom even ran out to do a few errands because and I quote James, "James and E at home - Mom go by self" - James loves himself some E and Erica was so kind to oblige the little man :) Thank you E!!! James has been anti-photo lately so this was taken on the sly.

When James woke up from his nap yesterday, he and I just watched the snow fall - the city was so quiet.

Even the construction site closed down before noon yesterday because of the snow. Doug even got to come home a little early because of it too - I think people are spooked this year from what happened last year - if you don't remember just google Chicago snowstorm 2011 Lake Shore Drive closed and see what images pop up. Anyway, it turned out to be a smaller snowstorm than what was forcasted - we only got about 3 inches in the city - more out in the burbs ...

Which we were able to see this morning when we went to school! I brought James' snow boots with us to school because I didn't know how much it had snowed up there or what the streets and sidewalks looked like. In the city, we get a complete job - salted and plowed roads and sidewalks. In the burbs ... not so much. It was fun to use 4wheel drive today though :) James had a blast before school in the snow AND I remembered to bring the actual real camera!

This afternoon however, I just had my cell and it was just for a quick walk to the grocery store and cleaners but James had fun sweeping the snow of off all the railings we saw. What a cutie.

Hope everyone is enjoying their winters so far! Happy Weekend to everyone!
