Now I Remember
So in December, I asked myself, what happened to November? Why did I only write four posts? What on Earth was going on that I couldn't take the time to do this. And then today I remembered. I remembered because I was feeling guilty about not posting about this Saturday. I have had PLENTY of nap time minutes and bedtime hours to do this ... So why? I'll tell you why. Because I cannot put down Book 5 of the Song of Ice and Fire. You may have heard of this guy George R. R. Martin? Yeah. Books 1-4 happened to the month of November. Our house looked like a demilitarized zone. On the plus side, I was able to completely immerse myself in these books. I tore through them. They are fantastic. They are wonderful. Go get them. Now. Right now. I have had Book 5 in the house since December 1st but knew if I started to read it, Christmas would not have happened. On average these books are 900+ pages and with only classtime, naptime and late evening to read, it took me a good week to get through each book. So, I waited until this past Friday to start it and I'm gone again. I'm trying to take this one slowly and savor each page because I know it's going to be a long time until Book 6 - I recently found out that there were six years that passed between Books 4 and 5. I'm having a hard time concentrating right now typing this because I just want to get back to my book :) It's fantastic.
So .... this weekend we had SNOW to play in and we did all Saturday morning. It was cold - maybe the teens - but we had James bundled up in long underwear, snow pants, lots of layers and his big North Face Jacket and gloves and hat and the neck thing you wear when you ski. He was such a little snow bunny :) I only was outside for maybe an hour - hour and a half but James and Doug were out for two and a half hours. They had a blast. They went sledding, they made snow angels, they built forts, they had so much fun. Here are some of the photos!
