Happy Easter everyone! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the holiday with friends and family :)

Now, this is a long post - so cozy in for a good read with lots of photos.
We begin with decorating the house for Easter. I took James up to the burbs to the only place I knew where we could find cute decorations and fun things to do together to decorate - the Target/Michael's 2 for 1 special only located in your suburban strip mall. So, up we went in the rain. It was great - we found all sorts of fun stuff and got home and got to work.
First, I bought these wooden eggs and stickers. I felt with the wood, James could drop them, roll them, knock them together and they'd still be fine. The stickers, well, that's just a no brainer. What child doesn't like stickers. (I cannot believe I just referred to James as a child and not a baby.) And of course, our artist could color all over them :) It was such a blast. It was like free reign on creativity and I even had fun ... that was when I was allowed to sticker an egg :) Then the Easter basket stuff - the ribbons of plastic. It's all over our house but it's a lot of fun to play with and to pull your fingers across it to make it squeak.

Then on Good Friday, we dyed eggs. Doug and I couldn't remember what year we last dyed eggs but all the same tools are on the market :)
Our toddler Easter eggery began like this:

Hmmmmm. Shaving cream? Yes. If you have ever known a child around the age of 2, this needs no explanation. That is all.
However, the newly colored eggs were the perfect finale to our decorated Easter Basket.
And moving on. So, while at Michael's, I found these HUGE nesting eggs and thought they would be perfect for Easter gifts. Here are the photos of the Easter egg hunt!
Here's our little guy in the outfit he picked out for Easter - the madras pants with a green bow tie. Precious.
He is the most handsome little man around.

After Mass, we met up with Doug's family for brunch and we saw the Easter Bunny and James LOVED him! Such a change from last year when he screamed and swatted Mr. Bunny. James actually got very protective of the Easter Bunny and didn't want other children near him.

Uh, Sir, excuse me please? I would very much like you to come over here and talk with me. Thanks so much Easter Bunny.
I see you have chocolates. I'll take this one, and this one, and this one

Happy Easter!
Love his decorating abilities! He's so big...and I LOVE his madras with yellow, such a stylish boy. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo cute! He is much better at coloring Easter eggs than me! (Morgan and I tried on Saturday night, but James' turned out much better!)
