Well Hey! I am back from a whirlwind trip to and from Atlanta in one day! It was my complete honor and pleasure to join a wonderful friend of mine in celebrating the upcoming birth of her child! Polly had such a beauitful shower on Saturday and I was just so thrilled to be able to be a part of it. I got the chance to meet her wonderful friends and to see girls that I had not seen since high school. It was just a lovely day.
I was able to spend the morning with Polly at her beautiful home and enjoy delicious breakfast fare that Wade picked up for us. I cannot tell you how much I loved just sitting, eating and chatting away - It was perfect. We got ready for the shower and then before I knew it, it was time for me to leave again to come home.
On the flight back, there was a little girl, 7 months old, named Harley. Her grandfather had flown from Chicago (on the same flight as me) to Atlanta to pick her up and surprise his wife back in Chicago. His daughter and son-on-law, Harley's parents, are flying up today so they can all celebrate Thanksgiving together. The whole flight home, we listened to Harley laugh and coo, and then breath those baby breaths as she slept for the final leg of the flight. I loved listening to her breathing because it reminded me of when James was that age and how I just couldn't wait to get home to my boys. It also made me smile thinking about Polly and her baby and their time together that she will have too. It was the perfect ending to the most fabulous day.
