The Light in the Afternoon

Do you know what I noticed yesterday? When Doug got home from work, it was still light outside.

Holy Moly.

There are only 23 days of February left.

James told me the other day how much he loved the snow and playing in the snow. I don't mind it either - it's a lot of fun actually to play in the snow and then come in and have hot chocolate and put all of our snow clothes to warm up in the dryer so we can go out again.

But, part of me is so happy to see it stay lighter later. The cold hasn't been bad this year so I won't complain but it is so very nice to see the sun and even better to see it hanging around longer.

I remember this cartoon from my youth. I always thought it was so funny. Now having boys coupled with living in the Midwest, it resonates more strongly with me. But don't assume this is what it looks like here right now. Oh no. It's 11 degrees today and we have 18 inches of snow on the ground.

I'm just glad to see the sun again :) Joyfully awaiting for the arrival Spring :)
