ENT

Today we saw the ENT - good news is that Cillian doesn't need tubes. He just has super tiny ear canals so when the fluid is in there, it might sit there longer and has a greater chance of getting infected. But, now we know so that's great. I did mention sometime to Dr. R today though. Cillian fell last summer and his helmet bumped his nose and he got a spot/area that had a bump and a tiny little pimple on the area would "release" every now and again and we thought it would just go away. But then 4 months passed, and then 6. I had told our former pediatrician about it and we were told not to worry. Then we switched pediatricians in January and I told him and he said to remind him in 3 months and if it was still there we'd go see a specialist. Then we had the ear infections and sinus infections and now we were here and something told me - "TELL HIM." So I did. Right before we were leaving.

We were talking about Vans (shoes) because Cills had them on, James wears them and Doug and Dr. R had a pair on that day. Then I said, "Can I ask you something? Do you know what this is? It's like a pimple that doesn't go away. It's been there since July of last year. He fell and we noticed it."

Then his face changed and asked, "Does it produce anything?" I said yes. He asked how often and I said, "Oh every day we wipe it and it's usually a lot in the bath because the steam opens it up. Doug usually pushes as much as he can out." He got very serious for a minute and quiet and then told me that we had to order an MRI. We had to find out from where the draining was originating.

And then my stomach flipped. I called Doug right after our appointment. It was actually snowing/sleeting outside. I pulled the car over and parked along the street. I knew it was going to be a long call and I knew I needed to focus on what we were going to be talking about and discussing. I cried - I said I know they're going to find something. Doug assured me and said to try not to worry. Doug asked me to make the MRI for a Friday.

After I ended the call with Doug, I sat on the side of Lincoln Ave and I called Lurie to set up the MRI for Friday June 6th. Then we left the city to go pick up James from school.
