Hot 4th

We had a very Happy 4th of July and hope you did too! It is HOT here people! Like, this hot.

 We have been trying to be inside as much as possible these days. I hear through the news and general chatter of people that there should be some sort of break in the weather coming soon. What makes the high temps even more fun is that one of the chillers in our building is broken so instead of it being freezing in our house, it's hovering around 75 inside. As you can imagine, James no longer has any desire to wear long sleeves and pants inside :) We've been enjoying lots of water, lots of frozen blueberries and of course, watermelon!


On the 4th, we drove out to see Doug's parents who are now in town for the summer. We got there early to spend the full morning there and Papa was still eating breakfast. I think James ended up eating more of it than Papa!

James had a complete blast playing outside with the hose and sprikler. We forgot the camera so all we have are phone photos - I'll have to post more from Doug's phone.

We left after lunch to beat the traffic and road closures for the fireworks and came home and grilled. Nothing like hot dogs, chips, sweet corn and watermelon the 4th! Hope everyone had fun with their holiday and friends and family! Stay cool!!!
