James' School Party

I know that these posts are coming in on the last day of December and the last day of the year but you know what? They're getting put in today because I will start the New Year right where I want to be - not behind on blog posts! :) So, James' party was on the 21st of December which in all honesty, feels like an eternity ago. The night before the party, I was up to my elbows in flour, sugar, chocolate and spices baking 4 dozen cookies for the Teachers' Luncheon which I had promised to do sometime in July. Isn't it funny how in July you think you'll have all this time around the end of school???? Anyway, I was saved by my go-to Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Heath Bar Cookies (they are so good) and a Gingersnap cookie recipe I read on a blog written by a friend of mine here (this is my first link in the blog - I am not blog-savvy at all). The cookies were so delicious and I even made them again during the morning of Christmas Eve so everyone could enjoy them.

Anyway, Doug took off for the party and we all piled in the car and got to school. Before we went in, we parked by James' favorite car - it's an old brown punch buggy - and he asked me if I could take a photo of him with it. Here it is.

A note actually, right before we left, the camera slipped out of my hands and hit the floor and the sound made my stomach turn. So ... the photos from this day and Christmas etc are a little off - sometime they're fuzzy and sometimes they're in focus. The camera has to go back to Canon for a check-up.

As room-mom, I was in charge of the party and it was fun to plan the party but hard to find plates and napkins that were non-holiday specific. It seemed everything was either Christmas or Hanukkah but I was able to find some snowflake plates thank goodness. All the parents were so excited to help bring refreshments and every child was able to have at least one parent or grandparent with them :)

Here are some of the photos from the party!
