Hi! We're here! We made it through :) When it started snowing yesterday afternoon, I never imagined that we would witness what we have. It was INSANE! Last night, Lake Shore Drive CLOSED! Like, no cars. Nothing. There were police at our entrance ramp and then actually across lanes on the Drive to prevent people from continuing.

As I type, the sun is out, there are bull-dozers and snowplows driving up and down Lake Shore Drive and the park is full of kids and adults who have the day off from school and work. This is the first time since 1999 that the Chicago Public Schools have had a snowday! James even had a snowday from music class today :)
Guess who had to work yesterday through the storm AND go back today? Yes, Doug. He actually had the brilliant idea to bring his snowpants and boots with him to work yesterday in case he had to walk home and he did have to walk home. And back to work this morning. Luckily he left today during a lull in the storm - here are some photos from the storm last night and earlier today.
That is insane. I have been thinking about y'all. You're the only person I know that lives in Chicago. Stay warm! When are y'all coming to see baby Sally? Be prepared to fall in love.
