Last Thursday we traveled down to Florida to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Sennott and had so much fun! We left super super early on Thursday morning and ate breakfast at Midway Airport - look - it's still dark outside!

We were hoping that little man would sleep on the plane but he was wide awake and wanted to look at everything that was going on! The great news is that there was no crying and no dirty diaper on the plane - for those two things not happening, I am forever thankful. I set up a little play area on my seat for James and then I sat James backwards in my seat facing the back of the chair - I rocked it on the floor holding his back. It wasn't as bad as it sounds - it was actually quite the little adventure :o) Here's a photo of James reading one of his favorite books - Fishy Tails.

After we landed, James ate and took a nap and then Mom and Grandma went to Publix to pick up food for James and delicious, delicious, delicious fried chicken. Mom could eat Publix fried chicken everyday for the rest of her life. While James napped, Mom made food for James. After everyone woke up, we went for a family walk on the beach. Just look at these photos - the background almost looks fake!
We had a lot of fun playing with all of the toys Grandma had for James. There was a little chair that James loved to sit in and then he would stand up! Such a big boy!! We also had a lot of fun relaxing with Grandpa by the windows and looking out at the beautiful ocean.
We also had a lot of fun going to Mote Marine and seeing the turtles and dolphins! The dolphins even had one of James' toys there!!
Swimming in the pool at Grandma and Grandpa's condo was also super fun. Even though the temperatures were on the cool side, the pool was packed. After James and Daddy swam around for a little, Mom got in with James and had so much fun! James was hysterical with laughter! His belly laughs got everyone's attention on the pool deck.
James' laugh is so cute - Aunt Erica once said she would like to bottle it. We couldn't agree more. After swimming, a bath and nap rightly followed. Then, we took James to The Colony for dinner. This was the first time in a looooooooooooooooong time that Mom and Dad got dressed nicely and went out for dinner.
This was also James' first fine dining experience. It went better than expected - so for that, I am thankful. Here's a photo of James with Moo our favorite waiter. He makes the BEST table-side Ceaser Salad. And some photos of during and after dinner.
The next day, Mom and Dad and James went for a long walk down the road for James to take a nap. James was having a little bit of a hard time sleeping that day so we thought a walk in the fresh air and a nap in the stroller would be just fine - totally did the trick - kiddo was out like a light for just about an hour.

During this time, Mom and Dad went to a little deli place called Nosh - the food was delicious! And it was nice to spend some time together! It's rare that Mom and Dad get a chance to just enjoy a nice walk and talk - definitely a perk of a vacation :o) Then we took another stroll on the beach together and sat in the sand.
Sunday we left and came back to Chicago to find SNOW on our balcony! Hopefully spring will get here soon :o) We had a great time in Florida and are looking forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa at James' first birthday party! Thanks again for a great time!
