GG

Last night, we lost my grandmother Nana. To James, Nana was GG. I am having a hard time writing this and a much harder time realizing that Nana is not here anymore. Yesterday she was walking across the street when a car struck her. Nana and James met once and for that I am so grateful and also very sad. I wish that we could have gotten out to New York more often. James was Nana's first great-grandchild.

James, every time I spoke to Nana she wanted to know everything that you were doing, everything that you were saying, how tall you had gotten, how much your hair had grown. Everything. Nana loved hearing about all of your cute adventures, things you got into around the house and she especially loved hearing your voice over the phone. I could hear the smile in her voice after talking to her about you. Nana was so proud of you and loved you so so so much. At the end of every conversation, she always asked me to tell you that she loved you and to give you hugs and kisses for her.

Nana, GG, we love you so much and will miss you so much. You will be forever in our hearts. With love, Meg, Doug and James.

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.
