We're just so happy that with each day, James is getting closer to being his smiley little self again. Here are a few shots of him standing with Daddy, playing in his bouncer, playing in the exersaucer, and giving Mommy a patented James Douglas kiss.

Flu Shots: Part 1
We have had a very intense last week and a half! Little James has received a lot of vaccinations in a very short amount of time and he was definitely wiped out from it all. But, our little guys is our little hero - facing everything with bravery and being super resilient. Here's how it all went down. On his 6 month birthday, James received 3 vaccines and the first part of his regular flu shot (more on this later). At the appointment, I asked Dr. Hirsh about the H1N1 vaccine and she told me that I have to call every morning and listen to a recording to see if they have the H1N1 vaccine in for children aged 6-36 months. The vaccine for this age group is the dead virus given as a shot. As James gets older, he will have to receive the nasal vaccine which has a live virus. So because James is in the 6-36 month age group, his flu shots - both regular and H1N1 - have to be split into two vaccines given 4 weeks apart. This means that after December 3rd, I have to find out when the shots are available again and get him in there for round two. Poor guy.
